Ethan Ray is a San Luis Obispo native having grown up in the area. Prior to Parrish, Ethan worked in ranch and animal management. He was interested in winemaking and then met the Parrish family who brought him into the fold. Ethan started in the vineyard in 2011 and then was a key part of the winemaking team as Cellar Master for 10 years. During this time, he got certification in small engine repairs.
In 2021, Ethan decided it was time for a change and moved into the Tasting Room Kitchen with his passion for cooking. Ethan is now the Assistant Chef and creates dishes alongside his wife, Cecily Parrish Ray. The two work on seasonal offerings and paired experiences that compliment the wine. Ethan's years in the vineyard and winery give him valuable knowledge for the culinary program.
Ethan's favorite part of his day is being able to use the smoker on site as he is a barbeque enthusiast.
